A Partnership Built on Service
The Milwaukie Lions Club has forged a meaningful partnership with two Lions Clubs in Lambayeque, Peru — the Lions Club Chiclayo Lambayeque and the Lions Club Chiclayo Norte. Together, we share a common mission: ensuring that children in the Lambayeque region have access to quality vision care, regardless of their family’s economic circumstances.
Uncorrected vision problems are one of the most common and preventable barriers to learning. A child who cannot see the board clearly cannot learn effectively — and in underserved communities, access to eye exams and corrective lenses is often out of reach. Our partnership is working to change that.
What We’ve Accomplished Together
Our collaboration with the Lambayeque Lions Clubs has already made a tangible difference in the lives of children in the region. In previous years, the Milwaukie Lions Club raised funds to purchase and deliver a SPOT Vision Screener — a state-of-the-art device that can quickly and accurately screen children for vision problems. We have also sent Lions Club members and medical volunteers directly to Lambayeque to assist with on-the-ground vision screening efforts, working side by side with our Peruvian partners.
Our Current Campaign
Right now, we are raising funds to continue and expand our vision support efforts in Lambayeque. Your donation will help provide eye exams, corrective lenses, and vision screening equipment to children who need it most. In addition to financial support, we are also collecting donated eyeglasses — which will be cleaned, sorted, and shipped directly to our partners in Peru for distribution.

Have a pair of old glasses you no longer need? Drop them at one of our eyeglasses donation drop-box locations throughout the Milwaukie area. We will sort and ship them to our partners in Peru.
